Managing Director and Co-founder Sharad Gupta started his career as a student at Directorate Of Marine Engineering & Training Institute (DMET) Kolkata in 1991. Upon successfully completing the degree course, he joined Chevron Transport Corporation as Trainee Engineer and sailed with them for nearly 10 years. He stepped ashore with Mediterranean Shipping Company in late 2006, having sailed with them as a Chief Engineer.
Sharad has been in ship-management in Hong Kong for over a decade, his most recent position being that of Technical Manager with Misuga Kaiun, a leading Japanese Ship Owner / Manager. Besides being a Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST), a Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Marine Technologists (HKIMT) and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers (India), he is also a Fellow and Executive Committee member of the Hong Kong branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
A unique combination of a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Shipbroker, Sharad is also a certified HazMat expert.
A firm believer in continuous self-development, Sharad has been regularly involved with various maritime seminars in Hong Kong and has also completed the Senior Executive Leadership Program with Stanford University, California.
He is also the Honorary Secretary of the DMET - MERI Alumni Association in Hong Kong.
